Prvá polovica publikácie obsahuje charakteristiku obrazu starších dospelých na základe analýzy súčasného slovenského diskurzu konkrétne analýzy materiálov z oblasti frazeológie, reklamy, databázy Slovenského národného korpusu a politických prejavov. Vychádza sa pritom z tézy, že štandardizovaný diskurz o senioroch a ich jazykovom správaní ovplyvňuje ich reálne jazykové správanie. Lipcsei je poeta natus, jeho text nie je odvodený, ani sa neusiluje o dialóg s inými koncepciami či myšlienkovými systémami. Autor má zmysel pre básnickú skratku, prekvapivú, svojskú iróniu, paradox, no jeho text v náznakoch a perifériách otvára povestné zamknuté komnaty, kde osamelý subjekt horí vo svojej bezbrannosti a vnára sa do existenčnej temnoty. Tá však nie je všeobecná a skúsenostne ľudsky univerzálna, naopak, je osobná, osobnostná, len a len lipcseiovská.
